Wireless Network Scanning/Stumbling on the Mac

Scanning for wireless networks also referred to as "stumbling", is basically the detection of Wireless LANs using the 802.11b, 802.11a and 802.11g WLAN standards. This is useful for verifying network configurations, locating poor coverage in a WLAN, finding causes of wireless interference, detecting unauthorized access points etc...

iNet is a Network and Bonjour scanner for Apple's iPhone. It provides you with information about your devices and your networks via the wifi connection of your iPhone or iPod touch. You can gather complex and understandable overviews of your network and it's running services. Notable features include:

  • Network scan
  • Ping
  • Bonjour browser
  • Portscan
  • Device info

Future releases look to include the addition of DNS-Querys, Traceroute, Whois lookup and more. You can find it in the iTunes App Store, under Utilities , for the price of $1.99
