Google updates Chrome Beta for Mac

The beta version of Chrome for Mac has been updated with support for Chrome extensions. This update also brings bookmark syncing, bookmark manager, cookie manager, and task manager.

Altho it's still beta, it renders pages very snappy. See video below from the Google Chrome Blog.

Firebug for Firefox

If you're into Web Development or thinking of jumping into it, here's a tool I use on a daily basis. Firebug, is a must have Firefox extension which has the ability to inspect various elements on a web page. Once activated, hover your mouse over an element and Firebug will give you loads of detail on that item. Check out where it resides in your XHTML, CSS rules belonging to it, edit Javascript, and more. It is a must have tool for Web Developers in general.

Firefox Screen Space on Netbooks

Got a netbook computer? No doubt you struggle to get more screen real estate while using your web browser. If you are using Firefox in Windows or Ubuntu, here's a small tip to give a little more screen space than the default "full screen mode". Mozilla does not support this on their site.

However, there's an extension called Autohide, that gives you more control over which toolbars to show/hide/autohide when in your browsing sessions. Once you install it go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions -> Autohide -> Options to configure it.

Create Presentations Online

Prezi is a web based service that allows you to make animated zooming presentations online. The results can be viewed online or downloaded to view locally. Utilize images, videos, PDF's Flash files...etc. Like most cloud based services, there are Free public accounts, which are limited to 100 MB's of space, and a watermark on your presentations.

Pro and Private accounts unlock more features, remove the watermark and give you the ability to edit your presentations offline. It's not a replacement for Keynote or Powerpoint, but it's a nice solution for you to use if you need to create a presentation with nothing but a browser in front of you. Try the online editor, or flip through the showcase to see what is possible.
